Kelsey Plum bids the Las Vegas Aces a heartfelt farewell after Trade to Sparks.

Los Angeles Sparks superstar Kelsey Plum sent a powerful message about the Las Vegas Aces franchise after her blockbuster trade.

The Los Angeles Sparks acquired veteran Las Vegas Aces standout Kelsey Plum in a three-team trade on January 26. Jewell Loyd was also sent to the Aces, while the Seattle Storm received the second overall pick of the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Even though Plum was obviously prepared to join a different WNBA team, her departure from Vegas is still quite significant given how it alters the current WNBA environment. In addition, Plum won two WNBA championships, made three WNBA All-Star games, and was drafted by the Aces’ team (though it was still the San Antonio Stars).

And on January 31, Plum shared her thoughts on this significant shift on Instagram.

“A departure from San Antonio. Laimbeer, Bill. Marc Davis. Hammon, Becky. Hall of Fame teammates. titles. Every star. medals of gold. The post has a video montage of several memories during Plum’s time in Vegas, and Plum said in the caption, “Being a part of the Aces organization has been an incredible journey, and Vegas will always hold a special place in my heart.”

There’s a lot more to Vegas than just the strip. In addition to being a basketball town, it is home to amazing people that truly enjoy life. I’m incredibly thankful that I had the opportunity to witness the city’s unwavering devotion to the Aces.
