Latest News: Another Top Talented Star Confirms To Commit To The Heat

The Heat are expected to be among the league’s busiest teams the day after the NBA Finals conclude, according to Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.

Teams will have a window of opportunity to negotiate with their upcoming free agents from the conclusion of the Finals until the league-wide start of free agency on June 30 due to a change in the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Miami will have the opportunity to negotiate new contracts with Delon Wright, Patricia Mills, and Haywood Highsmith before they become unrestricted free agents.

In addition, the Heat have the option of negotiating with Alondes Williams, Cole Swider, and Jamal Cain, three two-way players who will become restricted free agents if they earn qualifying offers before June 29.

They can also negotiate with players who have player options for the upcoming season, like Josh Richardson ($3.1MM), Thomas Bryant ($2.8MM), Kevin Love ($4MM), and Caleb Martin ($7.1MM). As Chiang notes, that allows the Heat to have a better idea of their potential 2024–2025 squad before they enter free agency.

Additionally, Miami is allowed to start talks with Bam Adebayo on an extension. Adebayo can sign the contract after the league-wide ban expires on July 6. With a starting salary of $51.2 million for 2026–2027, the Heat can pay Adebayo $165 million over three years; however, Chiang suggests that Adebayo might prefer to hold out for a more lucrative deal that comes up next summer.

From the Southeast Division, here is more:

As for Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network, Bilal Coulibaly wants to make the French Olympic team and contend for a gold medal in Paris.

The 19 players who made France’s first roster—which will ultimately be reduced to 12—included the Wizards forward. Coulibaly will play in Washington’s offseason plans whether or not he competes in the Olympics.

GM Will Dawkins stated, He’s got the perspective that this is a significant summer for him. We’ll be involved, whether he plays for France or with us. We intend to remain present and implement a planned initiative.

According to Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer, Trentyn Flowers enhanced his value with an amazing athletic display at the draft combine, and the Hornets may be interested in him.

Boone mentions that Flowers, who competed for Adelaide in Australia this season, has at least thirteen pre-draft workouts planned. Charlotte owns the sixth and forty-twoth picks, and according to Boone, it’s still unclear where Flowers might be selected.

Cole According to Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel, Anthony was dissatisfied with his performance after agreeing to a contract extension with the Magic last summer.

Anthony set career lows in his fourth NBA season with 11.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.”This summer, I’m going to work on everything,” he declared.

The most important thing I’m going to focus on is simply trying to look after my mental health. Try to do all in my power to limit the number of distractions on the court the following year, whether it be by talking about it or anything else.
