A representative for the governor of Alabama, Kay Ivey, confirmed on Thursday that legislation guaranteeing President Joe Biden’s inclusion on the state’s November ballot been signed into law.

The law was approved earlier in the day by the Republican-controlled state House, 93-0.It was approved last month by the GOP-controlled state Senate.

The Biden campaign’s spokesperson, Charles Lutvak, told NBC News that Alabama is “already taking action to ensure that voters can exercise their right to vote for the candidate of their choice in November” and that the state has “full Republican support.”

Lutvak declared, “Joe Biden will be on the ballot in all 50 states.” “States across have followed the bipartisan consensus and made the required preparations to guarantee that the presidential nominees of both parties will be on the ballot, election after election. And it’s the same with this election.”

Republican secretaries of state in Ohio and Alabama had issued warnings that Biden might not be included on the state’s ballot for the general election since the Democratic Party convention in August is slated to take place after the deadline for state ballots.

In order to accommodate the scheduling of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Alabama’s certification deadline will be pushed back from 82 days to 74 days before to the general election under the legislation approved on Thursday.
