Carson Beck Georgia Bulldog QB Announced His Engagement
On Monday, the SEC announced the opponents of the Florida Gators men’s basketball team for the 2024–2025 season.
When Oklahoma and Texas from the Big 12 join the conference the following year, it will have 16 teams instead of just 14.
As two of their six home-only opponents, the Gators will host the Sooners and the Longhorns. It will be Oklahoma’s first-ever trip to Florida and Texas’s first visit to Gainesville since 1996.
Missouri, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Missouri round out the group.
The six additional teams comprise Florida’s opponents on the road. These states are Mississippi State, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, Alabama, and Kentucky.
Denver Parler, the SID for UF men’s basketball, notes that although Kentucky is undoubtedly Florida’s biggest conference adversary, the Gators will only face them once this season, marking the first time since the 1963–1964 campaign.
The Gators’ conference opponents in home and away games include South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Georgia, under the direction of former UF head coach Mike White, has lost their last 11 games against the Gators and has not defeated Florida since the 2018–2019 campaign. Last season, Florida defeated Georgia three games, including in the SEC Tournament, 85–80.
Last year, the Gators faced South Carolina and Tennessee once apiece, losing both games. Florida will play the Vols more than once for the first time since the 2020–2021 season and the Gamecocks more than once for the first time since the 2017–2018 season.
Every matchup’s dates, times, and television information will be revealed later.
