In response to reports that he is dating Taylor Swift in the wake of her recent breakup with Joe Alwyn, Fernando Alonso has commented.
In a recent interview with Sky Sports, the Spanish racer was questioned about his romantic life when he arrived in Baku ahead of this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix. With reference to one of Swift’s songs, the reporter went into greater detail about how the relationship rumors surrounding him and Swift have been making headlines.
The interviewer teased Alonso, quoting Swift’s song “Red,” saying, “It’s been an interesting few weeks for you during this break; I knew you were trouble!”
He said, “Probably,” in response to a question concerning the increase in internet attention he has had since the relationship rumors initially surfaced, while admitting that his profession is currently his top priority.
“However, my primary focus is on Baku and racing,” he remarked.
Alonso appeared to add gasoline to the dating rumors earlier this week. In a goofy TikTok video, Swift’s song “Karma” was playing in the background as he winked at the camera and glanced down at his phone. “Race week era” is how he captioned the photo, alluding to the singer’s Eras tour.
This week, a blind item about Alonso and Swift was uploaded on DeuxMoi, a celebrity gossip account, which set off rumors about their purported romance.
According to an anonymous email on the account’s Instagram, “a few Spanish magazines have been posting about TS and Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso,” as seen on Page 6. They claim that the couple had been dating for a week at this point. However, nothing major because they were both recently single.
Alonso released a statement together with Andrea Schlager, his ex-partner, earlier this month to declare their breakup. They did, however, clarify in the statement that they will continue to be involved in each other’s careers.
“We would want to inform you that we are no longer together as a couple. He posted on social media at the time, saying, “We have been fortunate enough to share a fantastic time together, and it will continue to be so, but with a different form of affection,” Sports Illustrated said. “We have been working on and off track on various projects together during this time, as you have probably noticed, and we will continue to do so with a great deal of love and respect for one another.”
