Jamie Elliott has turned his back on free agency, agreeing on a new two-year deal with Collingwood.
The 27-year-old had been courted by Melbourne and Brisbane, but the talented small forward ultimately chose to remain a one-club player. Despite suffering a plethora of injuries throughout his career, Collingwood list manager Ned Guy said he had full belief Elliott had turned a corner when it came to his body.

“That his next 100 games could be better than his first 100, which were very good. We were very pleased to get last night’s call.
“Understandably, as a free agent, Jamie had some thinking to do but his importance to us, his role in the team and the support of the Collingwood environment were always clear.”
Elliott has kicked 164 goals across 105 games for the Magpies, including 26 majors in 2019.
The Murray Bushrangers product missed all of the 2016 and 2018 seasons because of back, ankle and soft tissue injuries. Collingwood looks set to gain emerging Sydney ruckman Darcy Cameron this trade period, with the Magpies also linked to Brisbane’s Tom Cutler.
