In an unexpected turn of events that has gripped Burnley residents and drawn widespread attention online, a fifth person has now been arrested in connection with the chaotic brawl that erupted in downtown Burnley earlier this week. Police confirmed that 38-year-old Patrick Rosemond was taken into custody in Padiham, a nearby town just west of Burnley.
The incident, which was caught on video and quickly went viral, showed several individuals involved in a violent altercation outside a popular nightlife area. Witnesses reported bottles being thrown, cars being damaged, and multiple injuries sustained during the fracas.
According to Lancashire Police, Rosemond was identified through CCTV footage and social media clips shared by the public. He is currently being held on suspicion of violent disorder, assault, and public endangerment.
The investigation continues, with authorities urging anyone with additional footage or information to come forward. This arrest brings the total number of individuals apprehended to five, as police ramp up efforts to restore order and accountability.
Burnley MP Oliver Ryan has also weighed in, condemning the violence and emphasizing the need for increased police presence and community outreach to curb similar incidents in the future.
