Half a century ago, Led Zeppelin released what many fans and critics consider their magnum opus—Physical Graffiti. Now, in celebration of its 50th anniversary, the band’s legacy is soaring once again with the surprise release of a Live EP titled “Night Flight”, a nostalgic tribute to the enduring power and raw energy of the iconic 1975 double album.

A Tribute to the Monster That Was Physical Graffiti

Physical Graffiti wasn’t just an album—it was a musical statement. Sprawling across two LPs, it fused hard rock, blues, folk, and eastern-influenced psychedelia into an unforgettable masterpiece. Songs like “Kashmir,” “Trampled Under Foot,” and “In My Time of Dying” became staples of Zeppelin’s thunderous live shows and defining moments in rock history.

Fifty years later, Night Flight offers a fresh window into that era. Featuring newly unearthed live recordings from their explosive 1975 world tour, the EP includes live versions of five standout tracks from the Physical Graffiti tracklist—each remastered with modern clarity while preserving the grit and grandeur of Zeppelin at their peak.

What’s on the EP?

According to official reports, the Night Flight EP features:

  1. “Kashmir” (Live at Earls Court, 1975) – A hypnotic, towering rendition of one of the band’s most iconic songs.
  2. “The Wanton Song” (Live in Seattle) – Raw, fast-paced, and full of attitude.
  3. “Ten Years Gone” (Live at Madison Square Garden) – A heartbreaking epic with ethereal guitar work from Jimmy Page.
  4. “Trampled Under Foot” (Live in L.A.) – Funk-infused and energetic, showing Zeppelin’s groove-heavy side.
  5. “Night Flight” (Live Debut) – The first-ever live performance released of this fan-favorite deep cut, giving the EP its name.

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Reflect

Guitarist and producer Jimmy Page, who oversaw the remastering process, described the project as “a time capsule of lightning in a bottle.”

“We were at a creative high in 1975,” Page said. “The energy, the improvisation—it was all there. These tapes capture the band at full force.”

Robert Plant echoed the sentiment, saying, “Listening back, it reminds me how fearless we were. Physical Graffiti was freedom. These performances reflect that spirit—untamed and alive.”

A Treat for Zeppelin Fans

Available now on streaming platforms, limited-edition vinyl, and high-definition digital download, Night Flight is already being hailed as a gift to longtime fans and a revelation for newer generations just discovering Zeppelin’s unmatched live prowess.

For purists and collectors, a deluxe box set of Physical Graffiti is also being reissued, complete with rare photographs, handwritten lyric sheets, and new liner notes from music historians and surviving band members.

The Legacy Lives On

Fifty years later, Physical Graffiti continues to inspire musicians across genres—from rock and metal to alternative and even hip-hop. The release of Night Flight is more than just a commemoration—it’s a reaffirmation that Led Zeppelin’s music isn’t stuck in the past. It’s timeless.

As the band’s thunderous sound takes flight once again, one thing is certain: Zeppelin still knows how to shake the heavens.
