The Alabama Crimson Tide just landed another major recruiting win, as 5-star defensive back Jorden Edmonds has officially committed to the University of Alabama, joining what is already shaping up to be one of the most elite recruiting classes in the nation.
Regarded as one of the top defensive backs in the 2025 class, Edmonds chose Alabama over powerhouses like Georgia, Ohio State, and LSU, citing the program’s “championship mindset” and “DB legacy” as major factors in his decision.

In a live commitment announcement streamed online, the 6’1”, 190-pound playmaker from Buford High School (GA) said:
“Alabama felt like home from day one. The standard there is different. It’s not just about being great — it’s about being legendary. I want to be part of that.”
Jorden Edmonds brings a rare mix of:
- Elite coverage instincts
- Explosive speed (4.4-second 40-yard dash)
- Physicality at the line of scrimmage
- A proven ability to read and react to complex offensive schemes
Scouts have compared him to former Alabama greats like Minkah Fitzpatrick and Patrick Surtain II, and many believe Edmonds could make an early impact in Tuscaloosa — possibly even as a freshman starter.
This commitment marks yet another win for head coach Kalen DeBoer, who continues to stack elite talent in key positions as he looks to reload for a national title push.
“Jorden is the kind of competitor and leader we want in crimson,” said Coach DeBoer. “He’s got the mindset, the skill set, and the heart of a champion.”
With Edmonds now part of the 2025 class, Alabama’s defensive future looks even brighter. Paired with other blue-chip commits, the Tide is building a unit capable of continuing the program’s long tradition of NFL-ready defensive backs.
This commitment also gives Alabama momentum as it eyes other top defensive recruits — and continues its march toward the No. 1 class ranking.
