In recent weeks, the Crimson Tide have landed a flurry of elite commitments, including multiple five-star prospects, top national position players, and high-upside under-the-radar recruits. Alabama’s recruiting momentum is turning heads across the college football landscape and putting the rest of the SEC — and the country — on notice.

Since the start of July, Alabama has received commitments from:

  • Ezavier Crowell, No. 2 RB in the country (2026 class)
  • Darryll and Mandrell Desir, five-star twin defensive ends, flipped from Florida State
  • Jashaun Bivens, top-five linebacker nationally
  • Tyrese Lawton, a five-star offensive tackle who chose Alabama over Georgia and Texas

DeBoer and his staff have capitalized on relentless communication, game-ready development pitches, and NFL-focused preparation to lure top talent to Tuscaloosa — a sign that Nick Saban’s culture has not only been preserved but evolved.

“We’re not just building a class,” DeBoer said in a recent press briefing. “We’re building a team that wants to compete, wants to grow, and wants to win the right way.”

Insiders say the success isn’t by accident. DeBoer has implemented:

  • A revamped recruiting staff, including NFL scouts and analytics experts
  • A new NIL strategy focused on education, personal branding, and financial mentorship
  • A stronger emphasis on family and culture, modeled after DeBoer’s leadership style at Washington

What’s resonating with recruits? According to interviews, the biggest selling point is trust.

“Coach DeBoer didn’t promise me the spotlight,” said five-star linebacker Jashaun Bivens. “He promised me development, honesty, and a brotherhood. That’s what sold me.”

Alabama’s 2025 class — once ranked outside the top 10 post-Saban — is now firmly in the Top 3 nationally, and many expect them to claim the No. 1 spot if the streak continues.
